OK, repeat after us in unison: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Sigh.
We shouldn’t really need to post this, but in case you too get an e-mail offering to sell you a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid for $15,500–rather than $27,720, which is the starting list price of the car–it’s not real.
No, really. It isn’t true. It’s SPAM.
And Ford even says so. While most automaker press releases use words lavishly, this morning’s effort says, in its entirety:
An email claiming Ford Motor Company is offering 2010 Fusion Hybrids for $15,000 each as part of a special program is not legitimate. The email sender does not represent Ford and no such program exists. We recommend people receiving the email delete it without opening the attachment.
Well, glad that’s all cleared up!  Now, can we talk about those waiting lists for the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
