Though we have previously reported on the 2011 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid in this article //www.greencarreports.com/news/electric-cars/blog/1018775_2010-porsche-cayenne-s-hybrid-one-fast-powerful-and-green-suv there are a few updates available at this point.
The 2011 Cayenne Hybrid is still a long way from production, but some tweaks and further testing has lead to some new numbers. Previously, it was reported that the Cayenne Hybrid could go from 0-60 mph in 6.8 seconds; the new numbers suggest that 0-60 mph is only 6.4 seconds away. Porsche wants to point out to potential buyers that the engine employed the supercharged Audi 3.0 liter V6 will be the first supercharged combustion engine in any hybrid model.
Additionally, the vehicle is now expected to have a base price around $70,000 a figure that is nearly $10,000 more than a Cayenne S model.
Finally, additional fuel mileage testing has been conducted and the Cayenne Hybrid consumes less than 9 liters per 100 km or 2.38 gallons per 62.1 miles which averages out to 26 mpg in real world driving.
According to Porsche, “The results are showing typical four cylinder consumption while producing V8 numbers.”
Further information will be available as the release date of the 2011 Cayenne Hybrid draws near.
