It’s that time of the month again: the time when we look at the best deals on hybrids, electric cars, and diesels.
October may be your last chance, or close to it, to get remaining 2015 models, which are likely to carry greater discounts than the fresh 2016 stock.
As is usual in car buying, though, discounts can shift from model to model, depending on conditions.

The deals below represent the best available in the green-car sector for the month of October. Head over to CarsDirect for more information.
2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid
Hybrids
This month, all of the best hybrid deals seem to be on Toyota models.
For buyers wanting a hybrid with a more traditional mid-size sedan body, the 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid is worth a look.
It joins the best-deals list with a lease offer of $209 per month for 36 months.

That’s with $1,999 due at signing, and an allowance of 12,000 mile per year. The offer expires November 2.
On the other hand, the 2015 Toyota Prius Liftback is also available to lease at $199 per month for 36 months, also through November 2.
That’s the same deal offered last month, and still comes with $1,999 due at signing, and 12,000 miles per year.
2015 Toyota Prius C
With the redesigned 2016 Prius on the way, the outgoing will likely remain among the best hybrid deals as long as dealers still have it in stock.
The smaller 2015 Prius C is also available for slightly less money.

A lease deal of $159 per month for 36 months carries over from September, and lasts through November 2.
That includes the same $1,999 due at signing and 12,000-mile cap as the other Toyota hybrid models.
2015 Ford C-Max Energi
Plug-In Hybrids
In the much smaller field of plug-in hybrids, the 2015 Ford C-Max Energi remains the best deal.
A price cut introduced in September carries over to this month, meaning the tall wagon can still be leased for $139 a month for 36 months.
That’s with $3,069 due at signing, and 10,500 miles per year.
This could be a good option for buyers who need a car right now, but note that a redesigned Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid will likely arrive sometime next year.

2015 Chevrolet Volt
Electric Cars
If you can still find one, the 2015 Chevrolet Volt remains one of the best deals among electric cars.
While it’s now going on sale in California and a handful of other states, the redesigned second-generation Volt won’t launch nationwide until next year–meaning new Volts could also become rarer in certain regions over the next few months.
Chevy’s best Volt lease deal is $254 for 39 months, with $500 due at signing, and 10,000 miles per year. That offer lasts through November 2.
On the slightly more posh side, the 2015 BMW i3 gets a substantial cut in lease rates this month.
The BMW electric car is now available to lease for $229 a month for 24 months, with $4,154 due at signing and a 10,000-mile annual cap. That offer also lasts through November 2.
Another German option is the 2016 Volkswagen e-Golf, which can be leased for $199 per month for 36 months.
The offer–which includes $2,349 due at signing and a cap of 10,000 miles per year–lasts through November 2.
The e-Golf is still only available at select VW dealers in California, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
2016 BMW X3
Diesel
While other Volkswagen models are unaffected, the ongoing “Dieselgate” scandal has put a hold on sales of that company’s diesel models (except the very low-volume Touareg TDI sport-utility vehicle).
However, VW isn’t the only manufacturer offering diesels in the U.S.
The 2016 BMW X3 xDrive28d makes the list this month because of a $1,000 “Option Credit.”
This is essentially a bonus that can be applied to purchases–with cash or financing–as well as leases, lopping $1,000 off the cost of the SUV.
The Option Credit remains in effect until November 2.
