This much is clear: as long as there are cars, there will be people who want to race them. While the bulk of today’s racing takes place in fossil-fuel-powered automobiles, racing of the future will very likely be based around electric cars.
Electric drag racing is already an established sport, and now Quimera Responsible Racing is looking to put the sport of electric-car-drifting on the map, too.
If you’ve never heard of electric-car-drifting, don’t feel bad. The sport isn’t just in its infancy, it has yet to be born, but Quimera hopes to change that with the launch of the All Electric Drift Car (AEDC).
To promote its AEDC concept, Quimera has kicked off an international contest to design the livery of the AEDC, which will be revealed to the public on October 12 at California’s Irwindale Speedway.
The grand prize will be a trip for two to witness the unveiling of the car live, plus $5,000 in spending money. The contest began on March 21 and ends on May 14, so don’t delay if you’ve got an attention-grabbing livery in mind.
