Lexus revealed its LF-CC hybrid coupe concept shortly before the 2012 Paris Auto Show, and now we can bring you a live image gallery from the show itself.
The dramatic-looking coupe is the boldest expression of the marque’s ‘L-finesse’ design language and one of the most distinctive cars of the show, with the trademark ‘Spindle’ grille design taking center stage, dominating the car’s front end.
We’ve seen some of the sharp creases before in other recent Lexus models, notably the ES, GS and new LS, but on the LF-CC they’re even more extreme.
The car hints at the styling of the next Lexus IS model, which is likely to be available as a coupe as well as the regular four-door sedan.
Inside, Lexus has continued with its dual-zone dashboard format, with a ‘Display Zone’ housing the gauges and a large central screen, while the ‘Operation Zone’ features all the car’s minor controls. A low driving position will enhance the car’s dynamic feel.
For the first time, a hybrid model will be offered. The LF-CC coupe uses a new 2.5-liter, four-cylinder hybrid drivetrain, which Lexus says will be introduced into its range in the near future.
No specifics were revealed at the show, but Lexus is aiming for a mix of high fuel efficiency, low greenhouse gas emissions, and a strong power output, to match the car’s mean looks.
A rear-wheel drive layout should grant the car sporty handling. If it’s as good–or better–than the 2013 Lexus GS 450h, then we’re in for a treat.
