The Fisker Karma will be debuted in its production form at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
The production form shown above looks very similar to the concept previously unveiled. The vehicle is a four-seat sports car that will do zero to 60 in less than 6 seconds. It is an extended-rage electric vehicle much like the Chevy volt. The first 50 miles will be all-electric, getting stored energy from on-board lithium ion batteries. After that, the car will switch to a range-extending gas generator, which it turns out will be a GM engine.
The car is expected to cost $87,500 and will go on sale late in 2009.
