Recall For Some 2010 Toyota Prius, Lexus HS 250h ModelsRecall For Some 2010 Toyota Prius, Lexus HS 250h Models
Toyota said today it would recall some 2010 Toyota Prius and 2010 Lexus HS 250h hybrid cars in the U.S. due to a potentially faulty brake-pressure accumulator.
The component, said the company, may develop an internal crack due to metal fatigue caused by vibrations over the course of the vehicle life.
The recall involves checking the brake-booster pump assembly to ascertain whether its accumulator is one of those affected by the condition.
If it is, the company said, that accumulator will be replaced with an updated design at no cost to the customer.
Toyota stressed in its announcement that it has had no reports of either accidents or injuries stemming from any failures in the braking-system component.
The recall applies to roughly 87,000 vehicles.
The company will send a notification to owners of the affected vehicles via first-class mail, it said.

Toyota Prius owners can call the company’s Customer Experience at 1-800-331-4331.
Owners of the now-discontinued Lexus HS 250h model should call Lexus Customer Satisfaction at 1-800-255-3987.
